The Psychological Horror Genre

As it is almost Halloween, and many of the romance book lovers also love horror movies and/or slasher movies, I thought I’d talk about my love of the horror genre.

I’m picky when it comes to my horror, be it reading or watching. My go-to is psychological horror. Get Out, Psycho, The VVitch, Lighthouse, Midsommer, and even The Shining and Saw (the first one. Only the first one).

Slashers and torture porn (things like Saw II and Terrifier) are not my thing, however I...

A lot

I'm taking two weeks away from my next book, and I'm taking this week—this past week—off up until Tuesday not focusing on any of my novels.

However, the week hasn't been boring. I began writing articles again, making sure to that I'm scheduling articles to be posted regularly on Medium. I've also submitted a few different types of article proposals to different publications. Hopefully all works out well for the future.

I have also decided that I am going to remove my podcast from the...

The Accident

Well, I feel like I've almost fully recovered from my concussion. I didn't explain much in my last blog, simply that at the beginning of the month I had an emergency, but what happened was I got a concussion. I won't explain the situation, but it was bad, and I'm only just now starting to feel like myself again. This past week has been very beneficial in terms of my mental health, and it's great to not feel so lost and alone again. I've been pretty open about my mental health on...

I feel lost.

I don’t know what’s going on with me. It feels like time moves too slow when I want it to move faster and too fast when I need more time.

Every time I pick up my phone, I feel lost, almost like I don’t have anyone to talk to. And it isn’t that I don’t have anyone to talk to, it’s that I don’t have anything I want to say to the people that are available to talk to right now.

Will there be a day that I finally just give up? I can’t see myself doing that, but how long can I keep up...

Personal Changes

This week has been difficult—and different. I had somewhat of an emergency situation happen, but that isn’t something I want to focus on. I wish I had more to talk about this week, but I will say that my next book should be published on time. Last week, I mentioned that I had set my book aside for the time being until I could afford my own ISBN. Well, turns out that I should be able to afford it now, so I’m currently continuing to work on Love, and I will keep you all updated...

Thrusting Myself into Music & Writing Album Reviews & FreelancingThis

Album Reviews & Freelancing

This week has been filled with lots of writing! Unfortunately, not much writing has been done for my novel *cough* none *cough* but I haven’t forgotten about it. Simply, I have set it aside for now so that I’m not rushed and also… I’d like to purchase my own ISBN for my book instead of using Amazon’s free one, and I need to save the money for that. If you’ve never published a book, you probably don’t know how expensive ISBNs are, and the reason that Amazon gives...

I want to create and I don’t want to stop. Writing. Just... writing. All I

Writing. Just... writing.

All I want to do is work on articles. All I want to do is write all day, and I don’t want to focus solely on my novels. I just want to write. I want to create for people, non-fiction articles, feature pieces, album reviews, concert reviews, interviews with artists.

My current 9 to 5 really gets in the way of my writing. Honestly, writing and networking are all I can think about while I’m at my current 9 to 5. I might not feel that way if my 9 to 5 wasn’t so physically...

Changes, Ambitions, and Disappointment This Week’s Ambitions & A

This Week’s Ambitions & A Personal Story

I recently submitted a query to Harper’s Magazine to write a non-fiction article. This article will be written regardless of a rejection from them, as I plan to query the article idea to other publications that have potential to accept it. This query to Harper’s Magazine is more than a hopeful acceptance for their magazine, but it’s also a way for me to get a feel of how long it takes to receive a response from them, regardless of the outcome. I’m...

My First Weekly Blog Down to WeeklyWell, it’s finally happened. My schedule

Down to Weekly

Well, it’s finally happened. My schedule has worked out well enough to the point that I am able to write this blog once per week now! Honestly, I didn’t think I’d be able to do it this quickly. I’m still working on cutting down my social media time. Wednesdays are my content creation days, so certainly I’m on social media longer on those days, but the rest of the time I’ve been trying to cut down. My average is about two hours per day, and I could attribute most of that time to...

A Longer Intro This Week

Focusing on tasks that need to be completed and creating schedules for them is one of my favorite things to do. Recently, I have been arguing with myself about which book I am going to publish next. Surely the answer is obvious, right? Well, not exactly. You’d think that the book I have the most completed words in would be next, however, the first two books in my upcoming collection both have the same amounts of words completed. Then there’s the idea that I came up...

This Bi-week's Intro

I'm pleased to say that my portfolio is officially completed! I have uploaded it to the appropriate websites in order to market myself accordingly as a freelance writer. I will certainly make this a full-time job as soon as possible, and it's looking better already.
In addition, I recently made more this month on KDP [so far] than I have since the month of my release, and I am honestly so thankful. It has been hard work trying to keep up with posting to social media and...

A Brief Introduction

I'm so pleased to be able to say that my portfolio is almost completed! I've been working on taking my freelance writing career further; I'd like to be able to focus whole-heartedly on writing for the rest of my days and put my soul into everything I write, as I have always done.
I also have a photoshoot scheduled for some custom and fun headshots to showcase myself as a person--you'll get to see who you're working with.
I recently found a very old piece of my writing from...

Welcome to my blog, a brief insight into the innerworkings of my mind. Every two weeks, a snippet of my life and my stories will be revealed and updates to my writings will be posted.

Can't Control

I'm thrilled to introduce to you my latest creation, and even though this book was published in October last year, I didn't have an author blog at the time. My debut novel, Can't Control will toss you through a rollercoaster of emotions, set in a city where the line between right and wrong is...
